What we pick up most in Brentwood
Brentwood is mostly single-family, and the calls follow the houses. In Brentwood Park the big lots and long ownership mean estate cleanouts: a whole house of furniture, a garage that outlived two cars, a pool house nobody has opened in years. Families often have a few weeks between a sale date and a closing, and we work to that calendar.
Remodels are the second stream. Crestwood Hills has protected mid-century homes, and owners who renovate there tend to be careful, so we see a lot of tidy, carefully separated remodel leftovers and old fixtures rather than a heap in the driveway. Brentwood Glen's small lots send us smaller jobs: a garage, a shed, a yard's worth of old fencing.
Along the Wilshire and Barrington corridor the work is condo move-outs, where a bed, a sectional and a pile of boxes have to leave through an elevator on a reserved time slot. Brentwood also took in many households displaced by the Palisades fire, which means a steady rhythm of move-ins and, later, move-outs as people return home or settle elsewhere. We haul what is left behind in either direction.
Getting the truck in
South of Sunset the streets are flat and ordinary, and the truck fits almost anywhere. North of Sunset is a different map. Mandeville Canyon and the Kenter Canyon side of Crestwood Hills have narrow roads, long driveways and few places to turn around. For those jobs we size the truck to the road, stage at the nearest wide spot and hand-carry the rest. A photo of the driveway and the approach helps us choose.
Brentwood Circle is gated. Give us the code or a contact who can open the gate for the arrival window, and tell us about parked cars or a contractor's debris pile that could block the lane. Wilshire and Barrington condo buildings need a freight elevator booking, and many require a certificate of insurance. Our general liability and commercial auto policies cover the certificate, and we send it to your property manager before the day.
Brentwood's curbside program vs. hiring us
Brentwood is inside the City of Los Angeles, so LA Sanitation & Environment (LASAN) offers free curbside bulky-item pickup. As of 2026 the city describes it as unlimited for single- and multi-family residents. You schedule through 311 or MyLA311 at least one business day ahead, set items out for your regular trash day, and call (800) 773-2489 with questions. For a worn sofa and a mattress, that is the right call, and we will say so.
The program has edges. Third-party guides report it does not accept construction or renovation debris, dirt or paint, and the city does not carry things out of a garage or up a hillside driveway. If the pile is behind a gate, in a back house, or on a schedule that cannot wait for trash day, you need a crew. Check the LASAN page or 311 for the current rules before you rely on any single summary, ours included.
Where Brentwood junk ends up
Most Brentwood loads end up at Southern California Disposal & Recycling, 1908 Frank Street in Santa Monica, the nearest transfer station, after a donation stop. Metal, mattresses and electronics are pulled for recycling.
Paint, pool chemicals and the half-used cans from a Crestwood Hills remodel are not ours to haul. The West LA S.A.F.E. Center at UCLA, 550 Charles E. Young Drive West, takes household hazardous waste and e-waste from city residents, and we will leave those items in the garage for your drop-off.
Seasons in Brentwood
North of Sunset the neighborhood sits inside a Cal Fire Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone, so spring and early summer bring brush and yard clearance. Dead hedges, overgrown slopes and the pruned limbs of old pines and eucalyptus pile up fast on a canyon lot. Yard trimmings can go in the city green bin if they fit; what does not fit is where we come in.
Real estate sets the rest of the calendar. Spring and late summer listings mean staging cleanouts, and the end of the month is condo turnover on the Wilshire side. This winter, with the region preparing for a forecast strong El Niño, owners of hillside properties are clearing slopes and drains early. Los Angeles County states that removing debris from private property is the owner's responsibility, so a storm that leaves branches or mud on your lot is yours to move. Text us a photo and we will schedule it.
A typical Brentwood call
Here is how a typical Brentwood Park estate call goes, written as a sketch rather than a customer story. A family in Brentwood Park is selling a parent's house and texts pictures of a garage full of furniture and tools, plus a dining set, a piano bench and a closet of coats. Miles quotes a full truck.

Brentwood questions
Do you do same-day junk removal in Brentwood?
Often, yes. Brentwood is about 12 minutes from our Santa Monica yard. Text photos before noon to (310) 905-5138 and we can usually come that day; later texts are usually handled the next morning.
Does LA's free bulky-item pickup work for Brentwood homes?
Yes, for many items. LASAN offers free curbside pickup for residents, scheduled through 311 or MyLA311 at least one business day ahead. It is curbside only, and third-party guides report it excludes construction debris and dirt, which is where we step in.
Can you get a truck up Mandeville Canyon or Crestwood Hills?
Yes. We choose a truck that fits the road, stage at the nearest wide spot and hand-carry from the house if the driveway is too long or has no turnaround. Send a photo of the driveway and approach so we plan it right.
Do you handle estate cleanouts in Brentwood Park?
Yes. We work to your closing or listing date.
Can you work inside the gated Brentwood Circle?
Yes. Give us the gate code or a contact for the arrival window and tell us about any parking limits. We keep the truck out of the way and avoid blocking the lane.
Do you take brush and yard debris from hillside lots in Brentwood?
Yes. North of Sunset Boulevard sits in a Cal Fire Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone, and we haul cut brush, dead hedges and green waste that will not fit in the city's green bin.
Will a Wilshire or Barrington condo building let you in?
Most do, with a booked freight elevator and a certificate of insurance. Our general liability and commercial auto policies cover it, and the certificate goes to your building manager before the pickup day.
Where does my junk go after a Brentwood pickup?
Metal, mattresses and electronics go to recyclers, and the rest goes to Southern California Disposal & Recycling on Frank Street in Santa Monica.
