What we pick up most in Playa del Rey

Playa del Rey is two neighborhoods sharing a ZIP. East of the dunes, the apartments and condos stack up tightly, and The Jungle, a 1956 apartment cluster, is the part of town where a month-end turnover means a sofa, a mattress and a car-load of boxes carried out through a courtyard. On the bluffs, the money goes into the houses: ocean-view estates where a kitchen or deck remodel produces cabinets, old decking and a garage full of what the contractor didn't want. Beachfront condos along Vista del Mar round out the list, usually a downsizing or an estate with a locked storage unit to empty.

This page is a short one on purpose. For loading-dock paperwork and tower logistics, our Marina del Rey page covers the same ground a few minutes up the road. If you want the general version of how a pickup works, start at junk removal.

Getting the truck in

The east side is the tight one. Narrow apartment parking and cars parked bumper to bumper mean we often stage at the curb and carry in; the carry is part of the quote, so tell us the floor and whether there is an elevator. On the bluffs the streets climb steeply, and we plan the truck position before we arrive rather than discovering the grade on the way up. The condos on Vista del Mar load from the street, which keeps things simple as long as we can stop legally for an hour.

Culver Blvd, Manchester Ave and Pershing Dr are the arteries into the neighborhood. The LAX flight path runs overhead, and weekday traffic on those three roads is the main thing that moves our arrival window.

The city program vs. hiring us

Playa del Rey is in the City of Los Angeles, so LA Sanitation & Environment (LASAN) offers free, unlimited curbside bulky-item pickup to single- and multi-family residents. You schedule it through 311 or MyLA311 at least one business day ahead, set items out only after scheduling, and they go on your regular trash day. For a couch and a table with a week to spare, that is the right call. Call (800) 773-2489 or use the app.

We are for the jobs that curb can't hold: a whole apartment emptied on a 48-hour turnaround, remodel debris, a locked garage, a condo three floors up, or anything the property manager needs gone before the next tenant's key date.

Where Playa del Rey junk ends up

The Hyperion S.A.F.E. Center at 7660 W Imperial Hwy, Gate B, is next door, but it takes household hazardous waste and e-waste only, and only on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Paint, solvents and chemicals go there; we don't haul them.

A typical Playa del Rey call

A property manager texts photos of a vacated unit in The Jungle on a Thursday: a sectional, a bed frame, a bookcase and eight bags. Treat this as a sketch of a Jungle turnover rather than a testimonial.

Playa del Rey questions

Do you serve Playa del Rey?

Yes, all of 90293 including The Jungle, the bluffs above Vista del Mar and the streets around Del Rey Lagoon Park. It is about a 20-minute drive from our Santa Monica base.

Can I use the free LA city bulky pickup in Playa del Rey?

Yes. City of LA residents get free curbside bulky pickup through 311 or MyLA311, booked at least a business day ahead. We take the loads that don't fit that model, such as full unit cleanouts and remodel debris.

Does the Hyperion S.A.F.E. Center take furniture?

No. The center on W Imperial Hwy accepts household hazardous waste and e-waste only, Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Furniture and general junk go through us or the city's curbside program.

Can you handle a turnover in The Jungle apartments on short notice?

Usually, yes. Text photos of the unit and the floor level, and we'll confirm a window. Same-day depends on the day's schedule, so earlier texts get better odds.

Do you haul remodel debris from Playa del Rey bluff homes?

Yes, within what we accept: cabinets, flooring, decking and fixtures. We don't take hazardous materials or do demolition. Mention steep driveways or street parking limits when you text.

Ready when you are

Playa del Rey: text a photo, get a price today.

Snap what's going, text it over, and we reply with a clear price, usually within the hour. No visits, no hourly rates, and if the load differs from the photos we re-quote before we lift anything.
