Junk Removal Manhattan Beach

Manhattan Beach jobs tend to be remodel and teardown debris from the Hill Section, high-end furniture from the Tree Section, and hand-carry work on the Sand Section walk streets. Send photos to (310) 905-5138 and Miles quotes the load by truck space, including anything heavier than WM's reported per-item cap.

What we pick up most in Manhattan Beach

About two-thirds of Manhattan Beach's 14,994 homes are owner-occupied, and that shapes the work. In the Hill Section, steep lots with ocean views are constantly being remodeled or torn down and rebuilt, so we haul cabinets, old decking, flooring and the contents of a house emptied before demolition. Since 2010, new builds cannot exceed two merged lots, which keeps projects mid-sized but frequent. Our debris removal page explains what we take from a remodel, and debris removal in Manhattan Beach covers the construction side specifically.

The Tree Section and East Manhattan Beach near Manhattan Village and Liberty Village send furniture. Think sectional sofas, outdoor sets, home gym equipment and the dining table that did not survive a downsize. Downtown, near Metlox and Manhattan Beach Boulevard, restaurant and retail turnovers appear when a lease changes hands. Short-term rentals under 29 days are banned outside the Coastal Zone, so you will see fewer vacation furniture swaps here than in the next beach town south.

Getting the truck in

The Sand Section is the hard part. Its walk streets and The Strand have no vehicle access to the front door, so we park on the nearest cross street and hand-carry everything to the truck. A long carry affects crew time, not just the price, so we ask for a photo of the route from door to curb. Parking is scarce near the pier, and early-morning staging usually works best before beachgoers arrive.

Hill Section streets are steep and narrow, and an active construction site on the same block can take every curb space. If a contractor already has a dumpster or trailer at your address, tell us before we show up. For East Manhattan Beach, gates and HOA rules at complexes near Rosecrans can mean a move-in reservation, which we are used to arranging in advance.

WM's bulky pickup vs. hiring us

Manhattan Beach's hauler is WM, and the city's Winter 2025 newsletter says single- and multifamily residents can schedule up to six free bulky pickups a year. Use it for a worn-out chair or a bag of old cushions. Third-party sites describe tighter terms: roughly three items per visit, booked at least 48 hours before your collection day, each no more than 8 feet by 4 feet and 150 pounds. We could not confirm those limits on a city page, so call WM to check before you rely on them.

If the load is bigger, heavier or sitting behind a house, that is where we come in. A teardown does not fit in three items. A bundle of old doors, a pool table or a stack of oak shelving is heavier than the reported cap. And a pickup staged at the curb does not help if the Sand Section walk street does not allow a truck at the door. The carry, wherever the items sit, goes into a photo-based price.

Where Manhattan Beach junk ends up

Hill Section remodels produce two piles, and we split them. Lumber, drywall and flooring head to the Republic Services and American Waste transfer station, 1449 W Rosecrans Ave in Gardena, a quick drive east from Manhattan Village. Scrap metal, mattresses and electronics are pulled out for their own recyclers first.

Remodels also leave half-used paint and stain in the garage, and we do not haul those. For those, the S.A.F.E. Center at Hyperion (7660 W Imperial Hwy, Playa del Rey) is open to residents for household hazardous waste, weekends 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Set the cans aside and we will take the rest.

Seasons in Manhattan Beach

Remodel season runs most of the year, but spring is when owners finish projects ahead of summer and graduation parties. The summer months bring downsizing moves and the occasional vacation-home furniture refresh in the Coastal Zone. Late fall and winter bring storm cleanup: wind-blown fence sections, branches from older trees in the Tree Section, and water-soaked contents from garages. If weather leaves debris on your property, send a photo and we will schedule it.

A typical Manhattan Beach call

A homeowner texts photos at 7:30 a.m. after a kitchen was gutted last week: stacked cabinets, a broken-up countertop and a dining set the new design drops. Miles prices it at about three-quarters of a truck by 8. The crew parks on the cross street, carries everything down the steep driveway and leaves the garage swept. Treat this as a Hill Section sketch, not a testimonial.

Manhattan Beach questions

Can you pick up from the Sand Section walk streets in Manhattan Beach?

Yes. We stage on the nearest cross street and carry from the door. A photo of the route lets us size the crew, and an early-morning window helps with parking near the pier.

What does WM's bulky pickup cover in Manhattan Beach?

The city's Winter 2025 newsletter says residents can schedule up to 6 free bulky pickups per year. Third-party sites report about 3 items per visit with 48 hours' notice and a limit of 8 ft by 4 ft and 150 lb per item, but we could not confirm those on a city page, so call WM to verify.

Do you handle remodel and teardown debris in the Hill Section?

Yes, as long as it is household or renovation waste we can load by hand and haul: cabinets, flooring, drywall scraps, fixtures and old furniture. We do not do demolition, dumpster rentals, or hazardous materials such as asbestos.

How fast can you come to 90266?

Photos texted in the morning often get a same-day or next-morning window. Sand Section jobs with a long carry need a longer block, so mention the stairs and how far the door sits from the nearest cross street.

Where does my junk go after a Manhattan Beach pickup?

Hill Section cabinets and flooring, once sorted, go with metal and mattresses to their own recyclers or to the Gardena transfer station on W Rosecrans Ave.

Can you take paint or chemicals from my Manhattan Beach garage?

No. Leftover remodel paint, stain and solvents belong at the Hyperion S.A.F.E. Center in Playa del Rey, open weekends 9 to 3 at 7660 W Imperial Hwy. Tell us when you text and the crew will work around them.

Do Manhattan Beach short-term rental rules affect your work?

Not directly, but the city bans rentals under 29 days outside the Coastal Zone, so we see fewer vacation-turnover furniture swaps than in neighboring beach towns. Long-term landlords and owners remain our core customers.
