Junk Removal Hermosa Beach

Hermosa Beach packs more than 10,000 homes into 1.42 square miles, so most of our work here is tight-access carrying: walk streets, no-driveway cottages, condo turnovers and Pier Plaza fixtures. A photo of the route from door to curb, texted to (310) 905-5138, is what Miles needs for a clear price.

What we pick up most in Hermosa Beach

Hermosa has about 7,039 housing units per square mile, and 54.4 percent are rented. Small lots, duplexes and condo buildings mean calls for apartment turnovers, a roommate's abandoned sofa, a patio set that no longer fits and the storage-unit worth of boxes someone is finally edging out of a garage. Because the city is mostly long-term renters, with only about nine short-term rentals licensed as of 2025 reports and those limited to certain commercial zones, we see relatively few vacation-furniture swaps here. When a rental does turn over, it is more likely a lease change than a weekend guest.

Commercial calls cluster around Pier Plaza and Pier Avenue. Bars and restaurants refresh stools, tables and kitchen equipment, and when one closes the fixtures have to be out on a timeline. Hermosa Avenue shops add display cases and shelving. Our furniture removal page covers the household side, and commercial junk removal covers the business side.

Getting the truck in

This is the densest small-lot city on the South Bay coast, and access is the first question we ask. Walk streets and no-driveway homes mean the truck parks on Hermosa Avenue or the nearest cross street and the crew carries by hand. The Strand and Pier Plaza addresses are best done early, before foot traffic builds. Send a photo from the door to the curb, tell us how many stairs, and note whether the parking spot is permit-only. A good photo of the route changes the quote more than a photo of the pile.

Condo buildings may require elevator reservations, and some HOAs ask for a certificate of insurance; we carry general liability and commercial auto coverage and can provide it. Pier Avenue deliveries and loading zones are tight, so we time arrivals when the street is calmest.

Athens Services vs. hiring us

Athens Services is Hermosa Beach's hauler, and its bulky removal is available "upon request only." Neither the city page nor the Athens page publishes item limits or costs, and Athens' listed customer line is (888) 336-6100, Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m. to noon. Call before you plan around it, because we cannot tell you what it will or will not take beyond the exclusions the city lists.

Those exclusions matter: auto parts, construction and demolition debris such as dirt, concrete, tile, drywall and rock, hazardous waste and loose lumber are not part of the program. A bathroom remodel in a Pier Avenue condo would be on that list. We take remodel debris, loose lumber and the household items beyond whatever Athens agrees to pick up, and we are not limited to the curb on a particular collection day.

Where Hermosa Beach junk ends up

Metal and mattresses go to their own recyclers and electronics to e-waste handling. The rest goes to the Republic Services and American Waste station, 1449 W Rosecrans Ave in Gardena.

Half-used paint from a garage or a bathroom redo is not something we haul. Household hazardous waste has its own destination, the Playa del Rey S.A.F.E. Center on W Imperial Hwy, on weekends. Set it aside for that trip and we will load the rest.

Seasons in Hermosa Beach

Move-outs cluster at the end of each month and swell in late summer, when leases turn over after beach season. Bars and restaurants on Pier Plaza tend to refresh between the holiday rush and spring. Storm season brings blown-in debris, fallen fences and soaked contents from ground-floor garages near the Strand. If weather leaves a mess on your property, text a photo and we will fit it into the next open window.

A typical Hermosa Beach call

A condo owner on a walk street texts photos of a second-floor unit: a sleeper sofa, a dresser and a stack of boxes, with the nearest legal parking a block away. Miles prices the carry along with the load. The crew works the 10-to-noon window, stairs and walk street included, and the sofa ends up at Goodwill. Consider this walk-street sketch a placeholder for a real Hermosa job.

Hermosa Beach questions

Can you remove furniture from a Hermosa Beach walk street?

Yes. The truck parks on Hermosa Avenue or the nearest cross street and the crew carries by dolly and by hand. Photos of the route and the stair count go into the quote.

What are Athens Services' bulky pickup limits in Hermosa Beach?

They are not published. The city lists bulky removal as available "upon request only" and excludes auto parts, C&D debris, hazardous waste and loose lumber, but no item counts or costs appear on city or Athens pages. Call Athens at (888) 336-6100 to confirm before relying on it.

Do you take remodel debris from a Hermosa Beach condo?

Yes. We haul drywall, tile, flooring and cabinets that Athens excludes as C&D debris, as long as we can load them by hand. We do not do demolition, dumpster rental or hazardous waste.

How fast can you come to 90254?

Often the same day if you text before noon. For Pier Plaza and Strand addresses we pick a window ahead of foot traffic, which can mean the next morning.

Do you clear out bars and restaurants on Pier Plaza?

Yes. We remove stools, tables, shelving and kitchen equipment, with early timing to avoid pedestrian traffic. Send photos and any loading-zone constraints and we will plan the window.

Where does Hermosa Beach junk go after a pickup?

Condo and bar furniture that is still good goes to Goodwill Southern California or The Salvation Army. Metal, mattresses and electronics are recycled, and the remainder goes to the Gardena transfer station on W Rosecrans Ave.

Can you take paint or chemicals from my Hermosa Beach garage?

No. Hermosa residents can drop household hazardous waste at Hyperion in Playa del Rey, weekends only. We will not load it, but we will clear around it.
